Bittersweet homesick memory. Did I know it would be gone so quickly? Trees deep-rooted now. Just saplings we planted that damp, annoying, distant shoveling day. The same creatures, born again and again in this same spot. Living here, in this field, on that mountain. Drinking from the same spring for a hundred years. It is me who came and went, saw and forgot.

I recently realized that, as much as I anticipate reunion with beloved family / friends who have left the earth ahead of me…I deeply long to see again, feel again, the animals I have loved, and felt loved by, when this earth journey ends for me. Now and then, I imagine that reunion and for a few moments the joy and love is overwhelmingly beautiful ❤️

I understand! God Bless you! I have alot of cats, and love them all, but some become more special than others. My precious girl Izzie passed away two years ago, and I still mourn her! She was a black persian with beautiful amber looking eyes. She slept with me too. She was 12 when she died. She had been very sick, and the vet could not figure out exactly what she had. He said some kind of bacterial infection. After two months of overnight stays at the vet office, meds, injections I had to give at home, she left me. I miss her so! 😢❤️
Yes, I will see her again one day! 🙏 I feel the same way you do about them! They do help us process our emotions! I am feeding eight sweet kittens now. They are five months old, from two ferals I was feeding at the barn. One had three kittens, the other five. I kept them all! I know, I am damn crazy! I just love them! The ferals have been spaded already. I have four house cats, and four more older cats (they are 15.) They have always been outside cats, and they have a little outside "cat house", if you will, that they sleep in at night. Lol. Everyone had been fixed, and in a month or so the kittens will too....four boys, and four girls. ❤️❤️
