As I mentioned previously, I re-did my other bathroom too. The original looked like this when we moved in, thirteen years ago, with garish wallpaper, very dirty linoleum and, (naturally) dark brown trim:

(I can’t even express how much I hated this. Who in their right mind decorates a bathroom in yellow and brown??)

In the interim years of course I painted it a few times, but again I somehow managed to paint it too dark, every time. At one point it was all a murky gray-green, then later after I replaced the toilet and resurfaced the sink/shower white, I painted it a deep terracotta with a white trim, which still didn’t work. Plus those old narrow shutters let in almost zero light, and made it a real pain to open a window because you had to fiddle with the catch and the little knobs holding it shut, screwed to the frame.

So this is what I did, and as you can see I definitely had PINK in mind when I did it. I yanked out those old shutter doors, used a gloss paint again, because oh my it really works to bounce the light around, and did a dramatic black painted floor, which worked out really well in my not-so-humble opinion. :)

I got myself some beautiful brass towel racks and some linen bath towels, just to make it feel luxurious too. At some point when I can afford it I will put in the right kind of shutters, the same as I have in my bedroom. These open up wide, let the light in, and makes it easy to open the sliding windows too:

Now all I have to do is figure out how to get that old shower door clean…

UPDATE:

Then a couple of days later I added a nice big mirror on that empty wall. Makes the tiny room seem so much bigger!

Was surprisingly difficult to take photos of a mirror… lol

I have had a fantastic craftsman who is very balanced in his Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine creations. He did amazing things so I think it is that which makes the difference in what you create as man or woman.

A man would decorate using brown and color in general like this. Now it has a Divine Feminine flavor I prefer in my art that any man may enjoy also. I could always tell if a woman had decorated the places I stayed in my journeys, because the place would have such comfortable colors, and details only a woman would attend to which even made the place more hospitable to men although they rarely noticed.
