I heard LOUD cheeping from one of our robins’ nests today, and this little guy was up there with his mouth open! (He stopped cheeping when I got close.) This is a second baby robin, the other nest nearby had one earlier this summer - we got to witness that one's first flight, which was really cool. I wish I had caught that on video.
This nest has been used by the robins for about four straight summers now. It’s up in the rafters above where my garlic is hanging out in the open air shed. I have my grandfather’s old swing bench hanging up there too , upside-down to get it out of the way, and the robins decided it was the perfect spot.
I would like to get that swing-bench down someday, maybe refinish it, but I can’t when they are using it!
